Term 4 Cooper's Beach Camp

Last week we went to Cooper's Beach Camp. We went to the wharf and we went fishing off the wharf. We got the bait and we put it on the fishing rod. I didn't catch a fish.

Last Friday we had our Greats and Grands day. my performances and dancing. we had a delicious morning tea and played games. Here is my poem  i Wrote for my grandparent.

Handwriting

At the end of this term we did our handwriting sample we had to use our capital and lower case letters and write a sentence about our science fair.

What I like about my handwriting is that it is sitting on the line.

What I think I could do better is try to be neater when I form my letters.

Garden to Table

At Garden to table we pulled weeds out of the garden. And then we went to the orchard and planted some passion fruit. Then we had a picnic on the field. They made fritters, kebabs, quiche and a salad.

Science Fair

Yesterday we had a Science Fair. Our parents came to see our science. We made a Volcano.

Koru Art

We made Koru Art using a foam koru cut out and ink which we stamped onto a piece of white cardboard.
My koru represents nature.
I really like how I blended by koru art using red and green.

Maths book

For maths this week we read a book called One is a snail, ten is a crab.  Then we worked in groups to create our own version. My book is called One is a snake, 10 is a squid.

Moon Rover Lander

For science we made a Moon rover lander using only a paper cup, paper, cellotape and straws.  We were given the task of making our Moon rover land softly onto our Moon landscape so that our marsh-mellow astronauts did not fly out.

What I like best about my Moon rover is that it landed on the grass.

What I needed to modify on my Moon lander rover was to put tape on the legs.

One thing  I learned about landing on the Moon was that it has only a little bit of gravity.

These are my Basic Facts results for the end of Term One.
I am working on Stage 4. I got 18 out of 60.
I need to be on Stage 5 by the end of the year.

We have been writing colour poems. I had to write a poem about the colour blue because I am in the blue house. Here is my poem.

We sketched our bean plants that we grew in class. We then wrote words around the outside to describe the bean plant. We had to use these words to write a piece of descriptive writing. We then cut out our picture and glued it on to your writing. Here is my writing.
